Podge celebrates the passion, the personalities and the friendships that are forged through sport.
This year, we’re celebrating our love of football and the little things that all add up to make it the world’s most popular sport, including the fact that it has its own wonderfully rich vocabulary (a vocabulary that is regularly mangled by the people who play it and the folks who commentate on it).
Like every great match day, this year’s lunch will run as all those that have gone before: a catch up with old friends, the chance to make new ones, and the opportunity to get yourself a Bosman, all while enjoying a top-draw lunch without the distraction of auctions, raffles or interminable team-talks.
Podge is like social networking but with living, breathing human beings. And there’s the strong likelihood that you’ll share a spot on the bench with actual sporting legends. Instead of arriving lukewarm from a kiosk, your delicious lunch will be served fresh from The Dilly’s wonderful kitchens. And, as we head into Fergie-time, bacon butties and veggie alternatives will be a much needed boost in the event of penalties.
A great venue, with great food and a bar that never runs dry have always been at the heart of Podge so forget all that ‘pre-match diet’ malarkey and get ready to fill your Predators (other boots are available). Podge is about expanding horizons and contact books. And your waistbands? Well, at least we’ll know who ate all the pies.
So, come raise a glass to the sport the world loves, the people that play it, and the spirit in which it is almost always played.
Now, get stuck in, and give it 110%.

We’re playing on new home turf. This year, Sports Podge will kick off at a fantastic new venue, The Dilly. Right at the heart of London, The Dilly is a perfect space with a wonderful atmosphere, a fascinating history, and beautifully designed terraces.

Travel update for guests
There are no road closures impacting Piccadilly and above, however Westminster from The Mall
down is
impacted meaning surrounding roads are busier and more congested. Tube and train travel is
as normal
and services having been running with a good service on almost all lines. Note, the
District line
has delays due to the locations it serves.
